DROP FORGED CLEVISES Most commonly used for: Kortick drop forged clevises are used for attaching suspension insulator units to strain yokes, double arming channels or towers.
Type A, with straight sides are for single fittings.
Type B, with expanded sides, permits the use of two or more fittings because of their increased clearance.
Kortick drop forged clevises are forged from open hearth steel, equipped with pins and brass humped cotters. They are hot dip galvanized for corrosion resistance.
We list a few of the more popular sizes used. We will, however, furnish them in any size to meet installation needs. Submit your specifications for quotation.
KORTICK DEAD END THIMBLE CLEVISES are used for dead ending conductors to suspension type insulators. Shipped assembled with pins and cotters.
Fabricated from steel. Pins forged from “high carbon” steel and equipped with Humped Brass Cotters. Hot dip galvanized after fabrication per latest revision ASTM Spec. A153. Excess zinc expelled by the Centrifugal Method.
KORTICK INSULATED SPOOL TYPE CLEVISES (DEAD ENDS) provide an economical, convenient, mechanically strong and electrically efficient fixture.
The slotted mounting holes facilitate mounting the clevises to crossarms and poles without removing insulator from the yoke.
The steel yokes are fabricated from steel, latest revision ASTM Spec. A107, formed hot to prevent “cold bend” strains. Clevis pins and bolts are forged from high carbon steel for added strength and are equipped with Humped Brass (self locking) Cotter Pins. Metal parts hot dip galvanized after fabrication.
Conform to latest revision EEI Spec. TD-20. Porcelain spools meet requirements EEI Publication No. TDJ-53.
MOUNTING BOLTS are extra and should be ordered separately.
Operating voltages are based on average conditions and will serve only as a guide in selecting the correct clevis. Local service requirements, climatic, and other operating conditions must govern the final selection of the clevis best suited for any specific installation.

Pole Dating Nails
Pole dating nails are fabricated from steel wire and hot dip galvanized.
Nails are marked with numerals, either in depressed or raised figures (two digits only) to indicate the year the pole is installed. Blank nails also are available.

KORTICK LAG SCREWS are used to attach Pole line Hardware and Specialties to pole, crossarms, and wood structures.
CONE POINTED FETTER DRIVE THREADS on Lags speed up installation because they can be driven into the wood like a nail, and develop all of the holding power of a regular Gimlet lag thread.
The 3/8-inch diameter and larger FETTER DRIVE SCREWS have a SHOULDER UNDER THE HEAD upset to the same diameter as the threaded section, thus insuring a snug fit in the hole of the hardware installation.
PILOT POINT screws allow the screw to be “tacked” into place before driving the screw into place. This makes for both increased time savings and easier installation.
Fabrication from carbon steel bars or cold heading wire of suitable grade and quality.
Hot dip galvanized per latest revision ASTM Specifications A153, threads cleaned of excess zinc by the Centrifugal Method.
Conform to latest revision EEI Specification TD-3. Heads are American Standard Regular and conform to the minimum body strengths noted below.
